What Does Your Company Do?

I have been in the Short Term Insurance industry for 39 years. From November 1993 I embarked on a journey to penetrate a very much male dominated financial community. Last year marked the milestone of 25 years. I concentrate on insurance cover both on the Commercial and Personal Lines sector. My aim is to apply honesty, integrity and educate clients on all types of insurance sections pertaining to their needs. I am top 20 Crystal Broker with a leading insurer and support numerous other Insurers, including Santam, and most proud of my achievements. My main motto is to save clients premiums in this very difficult economic time. I am dedicated and passionate about my work and client service 24/7. As an Italian descendant, proudly South African born, few women, if any, have single handedly run an insurance brokerage on their own.

What is your Biggest Success?

I am one of few sole women owned insurance brokers birth in the South African and Italian community. I have penetrated the insurance industry making my mark primarily to assist clients who are in dire need to save premiums and entrust their personal assets in my care. My company has also undertaken to assist the underprivileged, collection of sanitary pads, matric dresses and last but not least I am the proud author of The Life and Adventures of Frezzie Frog, proceeds thereof and all donated to non profit organisations to promote learning to read and achieving dreams. Altogether, my 25 years in business has gone from strength to strength, keeping safely in mind, that kindness, generosity and honesty with a dash of empathy is most self rewarding, without the need to be thanked, for actions of the heart require no recognition.

What has been your Biggest Hurdle?

Any woman in this day and age sacrifices a part of herself in order to stay abreast in an industry which is very competitive and demanding, not to mention her contribution to the family's welfare. Late nights, special occasions missed with family and not taking part in the growth of your children. I echo the sentiments of many a woman in this day and age who feel a sense of guilt for not being a full time mother. The economy, unfortunately does not grant many a woman this luxury. It's a man's world and my challenge as a woman is to match if not beat them. Despite, I have been well respected, but when the odds have been down, I have not held back. What is good for the goose...........
